What is a Cryptid?
At the CCC, we use the term "cryptid" to refer to any anomalous creature, beast, or monster with unexpected behavior or characteristics. This includes creatures that are believed to be purely mythical or legendary, as well as those that are known to exist but are extremely rare or difficult to find. CCC HQ
The CCC HQ is a specialized facility designed for cryptid control, with a modern research lab, workshop, alchemy lab, and stables for the containment and care of cryptids. The research lab is equipped with cutting-edge technology and staffed by expert scientists who study the biology, behavior, and ecology of cryptids to develop effective and ethical control methods. The workshop and alchemy lab are staffed by skilled technicians who craft and maintain the team's equipment and materials.Hunters who work on the team have access to comfortable barracks and living quarters, designed for rest and relaxation after long missions. The living spaces feature common areas for socializing and relaxing, as well as a fully equipped kitchen where hunters can prepare their own meals. Overall, the CCC HQ provides the resources and support necessary for the team to carry out their mission of cryptid control, ensuring the safety and well-being of both the team and the cryptids they care for.
FAQ
Q: Only hunters?
We need anyone who can be useful in a survival situation, from cooks to bards, from medics to mages, from explosive specialists to rogues. However, whatever your role is, you will be considered a Cryptid Hunter.Q: When?
We do an expedition every Friday starting 20:00* (Server Time, about 4 hours)
*Time might vary depending on work schedule of the DMQ: Do I need to join the guild?
Only if you want to wear the guild colors or want to contribute to the cause outside the expeditions. It is not mandatory to join the guild if you want to join an expedition.Q: How much is mandatory?
Nothing. Leave for anxiety, IRL stuff, join for just one expedition, we have no expectations, do what you enjoy.Q: I would like to do X on an expedition, do you offer that?
Join the Discord and let us know what you want, we can see if it fits in the story, but usually: yes.Q: What does an expedition look like?
We track down the monster to the lair while we are exposed to the forces of nature. In meantime we will set up camp and/or do survival RP.
There might be battle or not, the monster can be taken down passively with tranquilizer or we battle the monster. All depending on what we are in the mood for. We will try to include the wishes of members, an archeologist might find bones or artifacts, an explosives expert might find a puzzle involving explosives.Q: What else does CCC do?
We are a cryptid containment corporation, possible rp includes but is not limited to: research on cryptids (stable in garrison), craft traps, go to markets to buy weapons, sell exotic materials harvested from the cryptids, or even have experimental dinners with meat from unfamiliar species.Q: Beginner Friendly?
We are very casual and not very fussed about people not knowing a lot of lore, we do have members with a lot of lore knowledge, but will not berate you if you don't.
We are here to have fun.Q: Do I need high level character?
10+ is fine. But 30+ is preferable because of flying (for scene transitions)
If you do not have flying we can carry you.
